Credit Repair
Good credit is required for you to make some of the most important purchases of your life,
such as your car or your home. If you do not have a high credit score you could be turned down for bank loans and
potentially preventing you from ever owning your own home. There are several ways that you can repair your credit
but you need to make an educated decision on how you do it.
Should I Try To Repair My Credit Myself or Hire Someone?
First, you need to get a copy of your current credit report. Review the report and make a note of any errors that
you see. You need to make sure that everything on your credit report is correct. Make sure that they have your name
spelled correctly and that they have your correct address.
Next, you need to make sure there are no inaccuracies on your report. For example, if you
see an item on your report that isn't yours then you need to circle it. You also want to check to make sure that
your current creditors reported your payments correctly. For instance, if your car payment was always on time and
they reported it as late, then you need to circle it as well.
You can repair your credit yourself but it will take time and perseverance. You can dispute items on your credit
report directly through the bureau from which you requested it. A lot of this can be done online through the
bureau's website. It usually takes about thirty to forty days but they will send you a response to your dispute by
email.
Another option is hiring a credit repair company to do this for you. You will be charged a small fee and they will
do all of the work for you. Be careful of which company you hire. Make sure that they are a respectable company and
that they are legitimate. Remember, you will have to give this company all of your personal information including
your social security number.
